The contrast between the situation in Australia and what is happening in the US could not be more extreme. Yesterday the US recorded over 206,000 new cases of coronavirus in a single day, with almost 3,000 fatalities. In the past 24 hours another 218,000 tested positive, with another 3,000 deaths. They are simply not doing enough to limit contact between people. Only yesterday did the Mayor of Los Angeles order people to stay home, but that is just one city, and religious gatherings are exempt. Travel restrictions across the US are also very loose, or non-existent. The only way to get this virus under control is to stop people moving about, but American authorities just tinker at the edges, which does nothing to stop the spread of this virus.
