Vaccine trial results have been released by the University of Queensland. Scientists say it is safe and ‘likely to provide protection’ against COVID-19. The vaccine triggered an immune system in hamsters and now human trials are underway.
There is also important research being done here in Victoria to develop antibodies that would be an alternative to a vaccine. Antibodies can potentially block the virus from entering the body. Clinical trials will begin early next year. Meanwhile, China has just approved an experimental vaccine.
