NSW is still having small numbers of cases and outbreaks at a range of venues and schools. Each day for the past few weeks they have had up to 20 new cases, and today there were 22. One school in Sydney has eight of these cases. Health officials there are battling to make sure they get on top of these outbreaks quickly.
Here in Victoria Daniel Andrews was grilled this morning when he faced a parliamentary enquiry into our state’s response to this second wave. He will also give evidence at the judicial enquiry at some stage. The Premier has reiterated that under the unique circumstances of this pandemic, there is no such thing as a perfect response. Personally, I admire how he is managing both the response to this crisis and the criticism he’s getting from the opposition and media.
Sadly another 19 people have died overnight and there were 331 more cases of COVID-19 recorded in Victoria.
