Belarus has now had 100,000 cases of COVID, the 51st country to reach this number of infections. There have been widespread anti-government protests across Belarus over recent months. There have been protests in many countries across the world during this pandemic. We had another one here in Melbourne yesterday. 400 people were arrested. I can’t understand why these people are still protesting here, now that we are coming out of a lockdown that has virtually eliminated this virus. Life is so much better here than just about anywhere else on Earth. We’ve had less than 28,000 cases across Australia. Victoria had no new cases of COVID overnight. The fifth day in a row.
Like many people I will be glued to my television today to see the results of the US election unfold. There’s been a lot of fear about the possibility of violence in the aftermath of this election. I hope not. I hope there is a peaceful transition to a new political dynasty that will last a very long time.
