The 2020 AFL season has concluded and now on to the finals. It’s been good that they have managed to run the competition despite all the issues with COVID. The finals will start on 1 October. Go Tigers!
I didn’t win the footy tipping competition, but I ended up with 104 so I’m happy with that result. The finals will start on Thursday and the Grand Final will be held in Brisbane on 24 October, a night match for the first time.
Here in Melbourne, the public holiday that we have had for the past several years on Grand Final eve, which is usually in late September, will still be observed, but on the day before the final, Friday 23rd October, which seems a bit silly, but what the heck.
Victoria recorded 14 new cases of coronavirus overnight and 8 more fatalities. Our 14 day average is now 25.1. Cases with an unknown source (9 Sep – 22 Sep) now total 34. Daniel Andrews is giving evidence at the Hotel Quarantine Inquiry this afternoon.
