The Corona Crucible – Sun 6th December

World 66.8 million    Brazil 6.5 million      Russia 2.4 million

Yesterday I hosted our annual writers’ group Xmas gathering. The sic of us have been friends for over 15 years and have met monthly, usually at a café, to share our writing and give feedback. This year we met in person just once, pre pandemic. At the end of each year, we take it in turns to host the catch up. This year it was my turn. It was wonderful to enjoy the company of friends over lunch. We have not seen each other since February.

One of our group runs a small publishing business and it’s been a tough year for her, but she has managed to keep her business afloat thanks to JobKeeper.

As far as my writing projects go, I’ve written almost 70,000 words in this blog and penned a couple of articles, plus produced my annual astrology calendar.

We were meant to set some goals for our writing in 2021, but we were so enjoying the day that we didn’t get around to it. We’ll do that early next year when we meet again.

International flight arrivals resume tomorrow. Meanwhile, two international travellers are in quarantine in Melbourne after boarding a domestic flight in Sydney without entering quarantine there. Anyone on that flight should immediately quarantine and contact DHHS for further instructions. We’ve now had 37 days straight without a single case of coronavirus in Victoria. Daniel Andrews announced a further easing of restrictions across Victoria.
