The Corona Crucible – Tues 14th July

World 13.2 million                Argentina 100K+      Australia 10K+

Neil was planning to go to Geelong today. He arranged a special permit from his employer to go to a brewery for essential work. There are many of us who consider alcohol essential to daily life, but actually it was a safety issue at the brewery that was essential, not the beer.

Late yesterday however he decided not to go because it took a brewery staff member three hours to get there due to the checkpoint at Little River. So instead, they are arranging a remote safety inspection. Neil has done these before at other factories. Basically someone walks around the site with a headcam and via live stream Neil can ask questions and see what the issues are and then advise what needs to be done. These remote assessments don’t always get to the core of the problem, so he may still have to travel there.

Another 270 cases of coronavirus were diagnosed overnight in Victoria. Australia has now recorded 10,000 cases of COVID-19, still far less than many countries. We still have the potential to eliminate this virus if we get these outbreaks under control. Argentina is the 22nd country to record over 100,000 infections.
