All school classes resumed today in Victoria and so has the traffic nightmare around our local primary school. Parents park illegally and stay for longer than they are meant to stop in the drop off zone. Sometimes cars queue around the roundabout, blocking through traffic just so they can get as close as possible to the main entrance. It’s been an issue for local residents for years.
Meanwhile, the federal government is being widely criticised over its announcement that it will end its free child care scheme in July and stop JobKeeper payments for childcare providers. The ChildCare subsidy will be reintroduced and the criteria loosened, but the opposition points out that many families will be unable to afford childcare and that will have a negative impact on economic recovery.
