Molly is still not her normal bouncy self. Initially, we were thinking that she might have injured her back, but she isn’t reacting in pain if we touch her anywhere. She isn’t chasing after her ball and when we try to pick her up, she’s not standing up completely straight on her hind legs as she usually does. She’s also struggling to jump up on the couch. The pain killers have finished now, and they didn’t make any difference, so Neil took her back to the vet yesterday. Molly saw a different vet who assessed her more thoroughly and has concluded that she has in fact injured her lower back. She was given an injection, more pain killers and anti-inflammatory tablets and we have to keep her quiet for a month. Hopefully, it will heal by then. Poor possum.

I’m still not feeling great myself. I’m now at the coughing stage. This sinus infection always knocks me out for a few weeks. I hope I won’t need a second round of antibiotics. I’ll know in a couple of days. Meanwhile, I’ve been investigating the role that probiotics play in regard to sinus health. There is one strain of probiotic called Lactobacillus Sakei which is present in Kim Chi, which is a key probiotic strain for the health of sinuses. I hate the taste of Kim Chi so I’ve placed an order for the probiotic powder online. I’m really hoping this is the solution I’ve been looking for. Sinus infections really suck.
