Neil’s mother phoned this morning to wish him a happy birthday. Happy Mother’s Day to her as well. Neil sent her one of my handmade cards a week ago, but it hasn’t arrived yet. Postal deliveries are not as good as they used to be.

Neil hasn’t seen his mother since we visited her last Christmas. She’ll be turning 95 later this year. Neil is keen to go there as soon as interstate travel restrictions are lifted. He has the option of doing some work for his firm at their Adelaide office while he’s there to help out with a couple of their projects, but at this stage we have no idea when that will be.

Today we went to visit my mother, taking our flu vaccination paperwork with us. We gave her some chocolates and a photo book that we created a couple of weeks ago online.

The facility where my mum lives provides a number of activities for the residents and has recently introduced mini-golf. As a former golfer, Mum asked me to bring over her old putter to use.

I gave Neil his birthday presents; the scarf I finished knitting yesterday and some chocolates. Being a Taurus, he does love his chocolate. His daughter Megan had the same idea and dropped by with some chocolates last night. Tonight I’m cooking lamb roast for dinner.
