Once international flights resumed into Melbourne, it was only a matter of time. After 43 days without a single case of coronavirus here in Victoria, five new cases have been detected. All are in hotel quarantine after flying into Melbourne from overseas this week.
As at 11pm last night there were 735 people in quarantine since flights resumed on Monday. It’s likely that more new cases will be diagnosed. The five infected people have been relocated into a ‘hospital hotel’.
After the breach in quarantine that led to our second wave, there has been substantial overhaul of the quarantine system. I hope they have plugged the leaks. We’ve done so incredibly well to eliminate this virus from the community.
