The Corona Crucible – Tues 13th October

World 38 million       USA 8 million           India 7.1 million

The US has now recorded in excess of eight million infections. A staggering 2.6 million of these are active cases. Per capita, the US has over 24,000 cases of COVID-19 per one million of population. There are only three weeks now until the US election.

Few countries have a higher per capita number of cases of coronavirus than the US. Those that do are mostly those with a very small land area, such as Bahrain, Panama, Kuwait and Andorra. There are a few countries where the prevalence of the virus is worryingly high. Israel has over 30,000 people infected per capita. Peru and Chile both have more than 25,000. Australia sits 140th on this list with just over 1,000 cases per million.

In the past 24 hours Victoria recorded 12 more cases. Our 14 day average is now 10 and mystery cases (to October 10) have gone up to 13.

When I started writing this blog in March I made the decision not to include any astrology. I have not mentioned the hardship symbolised by January’s Saturn-Pluto conjunction. I am making an exception today.

Mars is reaching opposition tomorrow at around 10am Melbourne time, making its closest approach to the Earth. This often marks the peak of a struggle or battle. About two hours later, Mercury turns retrograde for three weeks of review. These planets are aligning with a number of planets in Melbourne’s and Australia’s chart. There are a number of decisive aspects. October is a critical month. I am hopeful that we will turn a corner towards a better future this week. It does suggest that restrictions will be lifted in Melbourne this weekend, I hope it also signals an end is coming to our second wave. We will see.
