After a warm weekend with more people out and about, it’s very wet in Melbourne today. It’s meant to stay wet most of this week.

Australia is now 78th on the country infection list with just over 27,000 cases of coronavirus in total. Many countries with fewer overall infections are recording much larger daily infection numbers, so we are likely to continue this positive downward trend, assuming of course that we avoid a third wave.

Today we recorded nine new cases in Victoria. Our 14 day average is 11.6 and the number of mystery cases remains at 13. Authorities are saying that they may relax restrictions in two weeks if the 14 day average does not get to exactly five, but the number of mystery cases is more concerning and needs to be much lower to open Melbourne up.
