Everyone has been eagerly anticipating Daniel Andrews’ appearance today to announce the next step in our road map out of COVID lockdown.

- A staged return to school for students. Term 4 will see prep to grade 2 students back at school, along with year 10-12 students undertaking VCE/VCAL studies, and specialist school students
- Outdoor exercise with a personal trainer allowed
- Some workplaces moving from being “heavily restricted” to “restricted” environments, allowing an estimated 101,000 people to return to work.
Two people can go shopping for essentials now and the curfew is being lifted. 127,000 workers will return to work. Specific details are being made available.
The next step has been brought forward to 19 October.
Today there were 16 new cases recorded with 2 further fatalities. Our 14 day average is now 22.1 in Melbourne and the unknown case number remains at 31.
