All Victorian AFL teams have relocated to Queensland for the next ten weeks. Players are being tested for COVID-19 twice a week and there are other restrictions in place to ensure safety. Every week brings another adjustment to AFL arrangements in order to keep the 2020 season running. The way things are going, it seems unlikely that the Grand Final will be played in Melbourne, that’s assuming that the season can be completed. Like everything else at the moment, it’s a very fluid situation. As the saying goes, a week is indeed a long time in football. Who knows where we will be in ten weeks? Teams are set to play 33 matches over 19 straight days of football with the next few weeks fixture announced soon. Good that the teams left Victoria when they did.

Another 363 cases of COVID-19 were recorded here overnight. Wearing a face mask will be mandatory from Wednesday in Victoria. Some exemptions will apply. Apparently 80 per cent of COVID-19 cases since May in Victoria have been in workplaces. There were 18 new cases in NSW announced today. A long list of venues have recorded outbreaks there, so this number will probably keep rising too.
