Saturn conjunct Sun
4/9/2008
Saturn and the Sun are known to be rather antagonistic to one another, yet they can also work together to help us build something lasting.
With Jupiter in Capricorn now making a trine to both the Sun and Saturn, opportunities for creative expression, personal growth and professional development will probably flow as a result of continued hard work.
Saturn helps us achieve lasting results, which come when we express our solar nature with a broader sense of self, rather than from purely ego.
Saturn is now making its closest approach to the Sun, moving direct and fast, helping us complete projects, get results and set new long-term goals.
Jupiter Direct
8/9/2008
You might have noticed how bright Jupiter has been in the sky over recent weeks. Planets are always closest to the Earth when retrograde, so this is not unusual.
Jupiter now stations and turns direct, and will soon speed up and race through the rest of Capricorn by early January, reaching the other side of the Sun shortly afterwards. Jupiter is much more comfortable in forward motion, in that it is active and progressive. Being the largest planet in the solar system, and spinning on its axis in just 10 hours, its natural confidence and positive momentum now kick in and will work in harmony with Saturn and the Sun, enabling us to capitalise on opportunities and combining well with Saturn's practicality and caution. A winning combination.
Mars conjunct Venus
12/9/2008
If men are from Mars and women are from Venus, it’s hardly surprising to learn that these two planets, the key planets associated with relationship, have a long and complicated celetsial cycle.
Conjunctions between these planets can happen several times in a calendar year, or there may not be one for a couple of years. This is a highly irregular pattern; in fact there doesn’t seem to be any pattern! Over the past few months I have been reseaching this cycle of Venus and Mars and to conincide with this concjunction I will be holding a worshop on this fascinating cycle on Sunday 14 September. workshop details here
Sun opposite Uranus
13/9/2008
Uranus is moving slowly as it opposes the Sun. It won’t be long before Saturn and Uranus oppose each other, a cycle associated with major social change and a fair amount of stress.
The opposition of Uranus to the Sun may be a precursor of what is to come. The US election will take place on the exact day of the first opposition between Uranus and Saturn.
The last time this aspect took place was in the mid 1960s, and although that also involved Pluto and Chiron, making it a more revolutionary time, we can still expect dramatic and perhaps sudden changes to emerge. Personally and collectively we are entering a time of significant awakening.
For example, to deal with climate change, the established system (Saturn) will have to be reformed and remodelled (Uranus). The traditional way (Saturn) and the new way (Uranus) are about to confront one another, and Saturn will have to make way, but we still need him to help us establish new systems and regulations, so we don't want to get him offside. More on this in coming months…
Pisces Full Moon
15/9/2008
This Full Moon conjuncts Uranus in Pisces, so there may a few surprises in store. Imagination and creativity are heightened. The potential for the formation of new relationships is equally compelling, as Mercury, Venus and Mars combine in the west as evening stars, but this can also mean that some relationships are about to end. As Pluto widely squares both the Sun and the Moon, it is probably necessary that in order for the new to be born, the old must now be relinquished.

Spring Equinox
Sun enters Libra
23/9/2008
1.44 am AEST
At the Equinoxes night are of equal length in the northern and southern hemispheres. This equality is part of the reason why Libra is associated with fairness and balance.
The Moon in its own sign Cancer suggesting peaceful ambience and emotional depth.
Since the Moon is rising and in its dignity in this chart set for Melbourne, it’s possible we could get some good spring rain in eastern Australia this Spring, certainly we could do with it. Chiron's continuing conjunction to The North Node and Neptune aligns with the Vertex in this location, in the 8th house, suggesting a major cycle is concluding, bringing with it a profound sense of relief and healing.
Mars and Mercury with Venus close by in Libra, trining these planets in Aquarius, makes for an uplifting positive experience with a sense of cooperation, peace, and harmony within our relationships and wider community.
It’s worth noting however, that Mercury is virtually stationary now, and will turn retrograde tomorrow for its regular three week stint. So promises made now may not be easily fulfilled, so the respite may be short lived.

Libra New Moon
29/9/2008
The Sabian symbol for this New Moon is; a woman feeding chickens and protecting them from the hawks.
Feeding and protecting are aspects of the feminine maternal instinct, and Ceres, the archetypal mother and grain goddess is now powerfully aligned to the nodal axis.
Perhaps this says something about the introduction of new tariffs or laws concerning crops, genetic engineering or farming practices.
