Scorpio New Moon
6 November 2010
This New Moon occurs at 13 degrees Scorpio; the same place where last month Venus began her retrograde journey. This reinforces the emphasis on the inner working of the psyche, the importance of adhering to values and honouring relationships.
Although Venus is still retrograde at this New Moon, she is emerging as the morning star. She is reborn and ready to express herself with renewed confidence. After her recent period of evaluation and assessment, Venus now knows what she wants. A new day dawns.
At this point in her 19 month cycle, Venus is eager to express herself and confidently goes after what she desires. Fresh arrangements, new relationships and new avenues for growth and creative expression are the focus.
Early in her cycle, Venus is somewhat naïve, and inexperienced in her new role, but she is also highly independent and rather than waiting for opportunities to come along, she takes the initiative by utilising the law of attraction and her creative powers.
Scorpio is the sign associated with rebirth and renewal so this is a great time to make a fresh start. Outmoded patterns are discarded. The past is put behind us. We are ready and eager to forge ahead into a new season of growth.
Falling close to the middle of Scorpio, this New Moon arrives in time for the full flowering of spring in the southern hemisphere. Venus’ association with beauty, love and fertility is shown by the planet’s relationship with the Earth which is the ratio of the golden mean, the naturally occurring spiral pattern of growth within all life. At this New Moon the goddess of love and beauty ushers in a fertile and highly creative period, ripe for planting new crops, new ideas and finding love.
Taurus Full Moon
22 November 2010
As ruler of Taurus, the goddess of love is still in the spotlight. Venus is now moving direct having stationed on the 18th.
While the focus continues to be on creativity, growth, and relationships, there is the potential for feelings of discomfort or annoyance with those who hold different values to our own.
Cultural, religious, or other differences of opinion may cause friction. While Venus in Libra is interested in harmony and keen to develop relationships, in her morning star phase she does so on her own terms and adheres passionately to her own standards, especially since she is about to re-enter Scorpio.

There is a strong desire to honour commitments to our personal standards, but Venus in Libra seeks compromise, negotiation and diplomacy. Hence it seems likely that attempts will be made to maintain an air of pleasantness, coolness and grace, which may be contrary to underlying motives. Nevertheless, our true colours will be at the forefront of all decisions.
Similarly, Venus in Libra is more cerebral and aesthetic than physical, but the Full Moon in Taurus emphasises our physical needs and our senses, in particular the sense of touch.
The potential exists for some awkward social moments as we try to engage with others more intimately and begin a new phase of relating and self expression. Passions and emotions are aroused by this full moon, but Libra wants us to avoid unpleasantness, argument, confrontation, or revealing its real feelings. One's true agenda will likely be revealed despite attempts to stay cool, calm and collected.
Any tensions or awkwardness felt at this Full Moon can ultimately lead towards greater awareness fostering deeper connections, intimacy and understanding.
