The focus this month seems to be on feminine wisdom. This is an opportunity for quite reflection. Cancer and Virgo are emphasised this month, both signs enjoy spending time alone. This solitary still energy can help us reconnect with our inner voice. Hard work is still indicated with Saturn in Virgo, combining with Mars, but in between the busy schedule it is important to take time out for rest and reflection.
Things will hot up in August, when there will be much more intense celestial activity, including a solar and lunar eclipse.
The main aspect this month is a conjunction of Mars and Saturn in Virgo. After sunset you might be able to see Mars and Saturn close to each other, very low in the western sky. Mars is the red one, Saturn looks yellow.
Mars enters Virgo
1 July 2008
Mars, being a naturally fiery planet, is potentially uncomfortable in earth sign Virgo, however there is a great deal that can be achieved when the planet of drive, energy and passion moves through the sign of diligence, service and work.
Mars in Virgo is thorough and disciplined. Highly efficient, organised and practical, it gets things done, it gets down to business.
However, there can be some frustration with this combination of energies. Fire (Mars) and (Earth) Virgo are psychological opposites. Mars is naturally impulsive, but Virgo is more thoughtful. In Virgo, Mars can find the Virgo focus on details rather frustrating.
Still, Mars in Virgo is a good time to tackle any projects requiring application, dedication, thoroughness and precision.
Cancer New Moon
3 July 2008
The Sabian Symbol for this New Moon at 12 Cancer is; a Chinese woman nursing a baby with a message.
What is the message? What is being born at this time?

It seems appropriate that Ceres and Venus closely conjunct this New Moon. The emphasis is on feminine wisdom.
Time spent in quiet contemplation is a good way to connect with our instincts, imagination and intuition, which are all associated with the feminine wisdom of this New Moon.
The emphasis is on inner life rather than outer achievement.
This is another SuperMoon, when the Moon will be close to the Earth.
Meanwhile on July 4, the Earth is at aphelion, its furthest distance from the Sun.
Because Earth’s perihelion (closest approach to the Sun) currently takes place in January and its aphelion in July, summers in the southern hemisphere are hotter and shorter, while winters are generally colder and longer. The situation is reversed in the northern hemisphere.
This is a 21 000 year long cycle. The dates of perihelion and aphelion advance each year on average 1 day every 58 years. This is one of several cycles associated with our climate and ice ages on Earth. For more information See link below.

Mars conjunct Saturn in Virgo
11 July 2008
When Mars and Saturn come together the emphasis is on hard work, especially so when operating through the sign traditionally associated with work, Virgo.
It’s possible to achieve a great deal with this energy. Although thorough and disciplined, on the down side this aspect can bring about frustration, delays and go-slows.
As with every planetary combination, especially the conjunctions, there is always a positive side and a negative side. Much depends on our level of conscious awareness.
If we lack self-discipline and the ability to focus, then this aspect will be probably experienced as incredibly frustrating. The lesson is to be more organised and responsible.
When work needs to be done this aspect helps us sustain effort over the long haul, so this is a good time to begin any long-term projects.
Virgo also rules health and nutrition, so it is important to also set limits to what we do, and take a break from the heavy work schedule and daily routine once in a while.
The last time Saturn and Mars made a conjunction was in Leo in June 2006. That was a more fiery combination, where the struggle was to turn our desires and creative ideas into something real and tangible. Now the focus is on the details and fine print.
Capricorn Full Moon
18 July 2008
The Sabian Symbol for the Moon at 27 Capricorn is; a mountain pilgrimage.
The Sabian Symbol for the Sun at 27 Capricorn is; a furious storm rages through a residential canyon.
Canyons and mountains, valleys and peaks; this seems to be saying something about the powerful natural forces that govern our Earth.
As Full Moons are times when the Earth’s crust is under more pressure, perhaps this signifies some kind of volcanic eruption, or other natural disaster.
We’ve already seen a few earth changes this year such as the recent devastating earthquake in China.
Full Moons are traditionally times of completion, fullness, and the peak of each monthly cycle. As with all oppositions, the focus is also now on relationships.
Cancer and Capricorn being signs associated with the solstices, are times when new beginnings are signified, times when we often change direction.
This Full Moon is exact just before 6.00pm AEST and therefore the Moon will be rising in the eastern states of Australia just at the point of reaching exact fullness, which is sure to be an amazing site.
Although the Moon appears to be larger when close to the horizon, this is actually an optical illusion.
