There seems to be a changing of the guard at present. With Saturn having changed signs last month, moving into earth sign Virgo, and Pluto about to move into Capricorn in January, there is a distinct feeling of major change at a political level. The recent resignations of Steve Bracks, John Thwaites, Peter Beattie and Kim Beazley are the start of a major shift in energy.

The Pluto in Leo generation (1939-1957) has been in power for a while now, not just in the political arena, but in all walks of life. The baby boomers have had a long run, but now it’s time to hand over the reins.

The Pluto in Virgo generation (1957-1972) has been living in the shadow of the Leo group for a long time now, but as Pluto moves into Capricorn and Saturn in Virgo, the time has come for a change.

With a Federal Election about to happen, John Howard, who was born in 1939, seems set for defeat. People have had enough and are ready to embrace change.

Kevin Rudd was born in 1957 and so was Peter Costello.

Aries

There is bound to be a lot of activity on the home front with Mars in your 4th house. This is a busy time and potentially unsettling for you may be dealing with renovations, moving house, or have visitors arriving. Tension could spark angry words. Whatever the actual circumstances, you would be advised to attend to your domestic situation.

Taurus

Opportunities to put the finishing touches to a major project are highlighted. Maybe you are thinking of starting another big job too. Relationships are also in focus for it might be time to take it to another level. In one way or another you are probably thinking about the long term direction of your life. But it’s all smooth sailing.

Gemini

You might have to attend to a range of problems at work. With Mercury retrograde in water sign Scorpio, things are not as straightforward as you would like them to be. Nor will this be a comfortable experience. The best approach it to try to focus on one thing at a time and don’t spread yourself too thin. Don’t ignore your health either.

Cancer

Mars brings an energy boost. Physically you have more vitality than usual. You may however be prone to angry outbursts, especially if you are thwarted in your ambitions or feel in any way frustrated. Channel this frustration into hard physical activity, sport or a big project around the home.

Leo

On the whole this is the best month for you for quite some time. Saturn having left your sign has lifted your enthusiasm. Jupiter is bringing more confidence and optimism as well. Social activities and creative projects benefit from this positive mindset. Some retail therapy will boost your self-esteem.

Virgo

Venus and Saturn usher in a major turning point in your relationships. Your self-esteem can suffer at times from your perfectionist attitude that makes you worry you are not good enough. But now you can see that you are lovable in a real sense and can really open yourself up to others. Treat yourself to a facial or new hair style.

Libra

You are undergoing a period when you need to separate yourself from others and withdraw. No longer can you rely on others to the extent that you have previously. It’s time to look within for the answers. This is not going to be easy, but this is the next step in your development. Why not go on a retreat.

Scorpio

Mercury retrograde in your sign brings an opportunity to address anything you need to revisit. Bringing up issues for discussion is not always easy, but now is probably the best time to do it. You may need to clear the air. Once this is done, you will feel like an emotional weight has been lifted.

Sagittarius

Venus and Saturn are hitting your Midheaven, so it’s time to focus on your prime objectives. Money and career matters have to be dealt with and you would be wise not to put it off any longer. You might be looking for an easy way out, but in this instance there is none. Bite the bullet.

Capricorn

Lots of comings and goings are in store this month. Make time for inner reflection too, for you need to find some inspiration which can be more easily found in quiet moments spent on your own. If another person is making unreasonable demands on your time, you might have to put your foot down, or better still, take yourself on a trip away.

Aquarius

The focus this month is on work and a host of other activities that will keep you busy. Colleagues may prove difficult to deal with, but through negotiation an amicable compromise can be reached. For best results, don’t attempt to fix problems on your own, for team work is required in this instance.

Pisces

Relationships continue to be in the spotlight and this cycle reveals exactly where you stand. This may herald the beginning, or the ending of an association, or both. Either way it is important to face facts. For better or worse you are seeing people for who they really are.
